Position Summary:

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14 acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).

Searching for experienced candidate to be responsible for verification of all insurance, patient and guarantor demographics, communicating benefits to patients, up front collection for both in-patient and partial hospital services.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Verify insurance information via phone call to payor and or use payor website to retrieve benefits
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheet
  • Meet with all new patients to establish correct insurance information and discuss financial ability to pay co-pays and deductables.
  • Contact patients to ensure payments are current and timely or to arrange alternative settlement plans on past due accounts.
  • Enter all patient financial arrangements into computer system
  • Procure required deposits for all self-pay admissions and any co pays and deductibles.

Requirements

Minimum of high school equivalency; some college preferred. Must have previous business office experience in insurance verification/  collections setting; 2 yrs exp. preferred.  Must have good computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to set priorities. Candidate must have interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of people with a pleasant, customer service attitude.
