Position Summary:
The Pride Institute has been providing the LGBTQ+ community a comfortable, safe alternative to traditional treatment programs for over 30 years.  We are currently looking for a part-time Maintenance Technician/Handyperson for our Eden Prairie, MN residential treatment center.
Our maintenance people are responsible for a wide variety of duties, including the installation, trouble-shooting, repair and maintenance of equipment and our overall facility.
The regular schedule will be a flexible full-day shift (8 hours) on Fridays, and 1/2 day shifts (4 hours) on Saturdays and Sundays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Examines rooms, halls, lobbies and gym to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
Coordinates access to property for outside vendors (i.e., plumbers, electricians, etc.)
Is responsible for shutting off gas, water, electricity, etc., in emergency situations
Is responsible for completing work orders by end of day, if possible
Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment throughout facility.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools in performing maintenance duties
Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas



HS Diploma or GED required

2-3 years general experience with issues related to plumbing, HVAC, and general facility maintenance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to handle multiple competing projects, demands and tasks 

Ability to pay continual attention to detail

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with all internal/external interface points

Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with clients and their families, visitors, referral sources, and all other contacts

Mechanical aptitude, with skill in operation of power tools, manual tools and various equipment

Ability to safely handle electric, plumbing and other emergencies, and good sense to know when to call in the licensed professionals

General knowledge of computer software applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

A current valid driver's license is required.
