The Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides comprehensive behavioral health care for adolescents, adults and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses. We are a 130-bed, short-term, acute care hospital offering inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. Founded in 1967, PIW combines the rich traditions of its past with the behavioral health options of the present. We are an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare.
We have an immediate opening for a full time Director of Facilities Management for an established hospital in the Washington, DC area. The Director of Facilities Management plans, organizes, directs, coordinates the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, Environmental Services and Grounds departments. They complete all duties and functions to ensure that the hospital facility meets all regulatory requirements. The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for maintaining compliance with Federal and District regulations and documentation to include, but not limited to the Join Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protections Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA). The Director will manage staff and contractors adequately to ensure and maintain the efficient and safe operations of the hospital. They will plan, predict, maintain and repair building and equipment and implement and utilize various tracking tools in order to maintain efficient, timely and effective operations. The Director develops and manages operating and capital budgets. This position will also oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the facility Emergency Operations Plan.
Education: & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; Bachelor’s Level degree
Experience: &nb sp; Five (5) years supervisory experience to include facilities management. Preferred experience in a healthcare setting.
Licensure/Certification:   ; strong>Membership in state or national healthcare engineering association preferred. Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
Knowledge: & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; Knowledge of the Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other regulatory agencies required.
