Position Summary:

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14 acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).

Seeking candidate to provide weekend clinical social work expertise.  Selected applicant will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of social services in assigned areas according to patient needs, standards for patients quality care and as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.  Candidate must have the competency to work on all facets of the hospital.  Must contribute to the well being and attainment of treatment goals for patients within guidelines set by the Social Services Department and the individual unit Program Director.

Master's Degree in Social Work with specialization in mental health.   A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience with children, adolescents, adults, geriatric patients and/or chemical dependency treatment in a mental health setting.  Services will include: psychosocial assessment, assessment of patient needs; individual, group and family therapy interventions, participation in multi- disciplinary treatment and planning, advocacy and discharge planning.  These interventions will be age and population specific and sensitive to the unique, cultural and spiritual concerns of the patients we serve.   A minimum of one year experience in discharge planning, clinical case management or a similiar position in a community based agency setting with provides experience in referrals for patients.  Ability to perform utilization review with managed care companies.  Possess competency in the following areas: relationship communications, assessment, intervention and organizational skills.  Possess a commitment to ethical and professional development.
