The Flight Paramedic functions under the direction of the Medical Control Physician, and the LIFESTAR Department Director. The Flight Paramedic assures provision of care to an assigned patient population in a professional manner, utilizing a systematic approach and the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members. This position requires proficiency in critical pre-hospital patient management. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

1. EMTP currently certified or licensed by the Texas DSHS, National Registry Preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience. National Registry required within 18 months of hire.
2. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor preferred
3. Current Trauma Course (PHTLS, ITLS, ATLS, TPATC)
4. FP-C required within 24 months of hire.
5. NRP within 6 months of hire
6. ATLS or TPATC required within 18 months of hire.
7. Must meet weight criteria
8. Public Speaking or teaching experience preferred
9. Previous Flight Experience Preferred
10. Drivers safety course for company vehicles
11. Must successfully complete initial (90 Day) orientation and recurrent training and competencies.
