Position Summary:

River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders, River Oaks has provided quality treatment to service individuals suffering from mental illness, and/or addictive disorders. Situated on a 14 acre campus, services are available at all levels of care (inpatient, day or partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).

Coordinates the nursing care of patients on the specific unit assigned, the candidate will participate in patient and family teaching, provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary staff and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. This position provides a high level of quality service to patients of all ages found within the scope of services.

 
Requirements

RN with an active, unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nurse license. New grads are considered and welcomed. Searching for a candidate having prior experience working in an inpatient psychiatric facility; must have the ability to assess the needs of patients and provide the required treatment modalities and interventions needed. Possess knowledge of the developmental issues of patients in terms of therapeutic milieu, family support and discharge planning. Provide the specific type of nursing services required by patients and their families. Ability to work well with all types of people, set priorities, and direct the work of others. Searching for a candidate with knowledge of hospital operations, principles of quality assessment activities and experience working in a high pace environment.

Available for five (5) EVENING shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm / alternating weekends.
