Position Summary:
Position Summary
Kingwood Pines Hospital a 116 bed psychiatric facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, adults for psychiatric and behavioral health needs. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. Kingwood Pines Hospital has an excellent opportunity for an Admissions/Intake Coordinator. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Purpose    &n bsp;     To assess the needs of the walk-in and phone inquirers and to ensure their referral to the service or resource to best address those
needs.
Customers Served:
Patients, families, medical staff, allied health professionals, other hospital department staff and external individuals requesting information. 
Key Responsibilities:
 
1.       Facilitate clinical assessments.
2.       Assume personal responsibility for excellent customer service.
3.       Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking behavioral health services.
4.       Document calls and related information on Intake form and enters data into computer system.
5.       Stay abreast of organization’s programs and services.
6.       Verifies insurance benefits.
7.       Adheres to Service Excellence standard at all times.
 
Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must be able to:
 
Ability to manage inquiry calls. Ability to communicate over the telephone and in face-to-face situations. Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing. Ability to gather and analyze data. Ability to learn Mental Health Code. Ability to type and to use integrated computer program. Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Ability to establish cooperative relationships with others. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.

EDUCATION

 

Prefer some college or equivalent experience in a health care related field.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:< /div>
 
  • Current CPR
  • CPI certifications
  • Current Texas Drivers License
 
EXPERIENCE:
 
Minimum of two (2) years experience in customer service and in health care preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles.
