The Program Manager provides supervision of clinical services on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Timberlawn Mental Health System and licensing for the State of Texas. The Program Manager is responsible for direct supervision of social service staff on the designated unit. It is their responsibility to insure that the following services are provided in a timely and professional manner: psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.
Masters’ degree in Social Work or Master’s degree in Counseling or Psychology.
Texas Social Work License required (LMSW or LMSW-ACP) or LPC
Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Prior supervisory experience is preferable.
Prefer knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
Must be CPR certified
