Position Summary:

Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services is a private psychiatric hospital meeting the behavioral healthcare needs of our community.  Located in Winston-Salem, NC, our 102-bed inpatient services for adults and adolescents offers comprehensive and individual assessments, psychiatric evaluation and medication stabilizatin, daily group therapy and personalized aftercare planning.  Old Vineyard is accredited by the Joint commission and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

We are currently seeking a per diem Recreation Therapist to join our talented and caring staff.  The Recreation Therapist will be responsible for 

Position is per diem (as needed) with the need for both weekday and weekend coverage. 

planning, implementing, and documenting on daily therapeutic recreation groups with acute patients (adult and adolescent). CTRS will provide assessments and discharge plan on each patient and work with an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide quality care. Candidate must have strong organizational skills, creativity, efficiency, and enthusiasm.

Education: Bachelor's degree with completion of 480-hr. internship in Rec Therapy.

License:  Must be CTRS certified as well as licensed (or elligible for license) by NCBRTL.

Knowledge Required: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and document client behavior. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Requirements:  Position is physically and mentally demanding.  Extensive walking, standing, sitting.  Must be able to lift, push and pull over 50 lbs.  Must be physically able to utilize nonviolent physical restraint techniques.  Must be able to maintain professionalism and respond appropriately in a crisis situations.
