Arrowhead Behavioral Health, is a 42-bed private, free-standing psychiatric hospital located in Maumee, OH. Arrowhead offers a private, confidential and non-institutional environment conducive to healing and recovery. Arrowhead provides a variety of specialized services for adults and seniors 18 and older. Arrowhead Behavioral Health currently has an Assistant Director of Nursing position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

Assist the Director of Nursing in directing and managing the delivery of quality nursing services.

Effectively integrate nursing care into patients’ interdisciplinary treatment program.

Assist the Director of Nursing in effectively developing, implementing and monitoring the organization’s quality improvement activities.

Develops organization-wide nursing care programs, policies and procedures to meet patient’s nursing care needs with the direction of the Director of Nursing.

Serves as a back-up to the Director of Nursing.

Serves as a department head in the absence of the DON, ensures integration of nursing services into overall organization operations.

Monitor the day-to-day provision of psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care, assisting on the unit as necessary and communicating problems/issues with the DON as they occur.

Assists the DON with facilitation of nursing department orientation. Identify competency of staff and provide follow-up action to remedy deficiencies.

Participates in the selection, hiring, scheduling and assignments of nursing department staff.

Ensures effective nursing staff job performance.

Provides clinical supervision in psychiatric nursing care to nursing staff.

Communicates with referral sources and family members, when applicable, in the patient’s interest.

Participates in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring. This includes attendance at treatment teams to ensure all nursing responsibilities/duties are carried out in a timely, quality focused way, and to ensure that nursing staff report to treatment team on time.

Maintains effective working relationships with internal managers and corporate consultants in interest of effective patient care and organization operations.

Participates in activities that enhance professional growth and development for him or herself/and the nursing department staff.

Investigates and resolves complaints, or refers unusual problems to proper individuals following the chain of command.

Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program. Ensures that the IC Nurse is completing all essential duties and collection of data needed to ensure compliance with regulatory body expectations.

Knowledgeable on the regulations of TJC, CMS, ODMH and ODADAS.

Supports facility service excellence program.

Other duties as assigned.

 
Requirements

Master’s of Science in Nursing, may consider a BSN candidate who is actively pursuing an MSN.

Experience in management and supervising staff with five (5) years or more years preferred.

Previous experience in a psychiatric setting and/or substance abuse treatment facility.

Ability to work with substance abuse patients, psychiatric patients and geriatric patients.

Valid Ohio RN license

Valid CPR certification
