The Manager of Production Environment will have primary responsibility for maintaining the availability of UHS’s Clinical Applications.  This person will manage a team which will develop, coordinate, execute and maintain the policies, process and technology to support UHS’s Production Environment. 

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain UHS Clinical Application availability.
• Manage a team to develop, coordinate, execute and maintain the policies, process and technology support to UHS’s production environment.
• Responsible for coordinating changes in the environment, document release notes, test plans, test cases and software specifications.
• Work with software vendor, Cerner to determine release cycles, fixes to introduce into production.
• Ensure that all issues escalated to the Production Environment team are resolved; determine break fix, new functionality or projects.
• Participate in design discussions and review of new requests and enhancements.
• Perform other duties as assigned/required.

 
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years in Information Systems support, preferred.
  • Background in Software Quality and Management of business-critical applications, clinical applications preferred. 
  • Experience gained in one or more of the following products/areas: off-the-shelf practice management software, healthcare systems,  Software development or product management.
  • Supervision ,direction and performance management of direct reports.

The Manager of Production assignments can be demanding in scope and complexity. Initiative and independent judgment are required to search out an appropriate course of action within the context of established policies and procedure.  The production manager is expected to make decisions on routine matters where established policies and procedures are available, and when not available, to develop a structured and consistent approach to future occurrences.   Position requires constant expansion of working knowledge of the product(s). Requires ability to move to new areas, and be productive within a reasonable amount of time

Additional knowledge:
• Knowledge/exposure to all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Exposure to Cerner package and upgrade strategy preferred
• Expert knowledge of Cerner Solutions
 - Cerner Carenet experience required
        - Cerner Core experience required
        - Previous experience as a Cerner Architect preferred
• Extensive experience in using automated testing tools and scripting
• Familiarity with scripting and automation tools
• Understands and owns code strategy post a hospital Go-Live
• Supports environment/domain planning and management including regression testing and domain copies and code installations.

Superior oral, written, negotiation, organizational, and presentation skills.  Proven analytical ability to solve complex business and technical problems. Superior interpersonal skills with management, customers, vendors and coworkers. Strong interpersonal communication and teambuilding skills to effectively interface with IT staff, internal/external customers and senior management. 

Travel Requirements: 5 – 25% domestic US travel (depending on projects).
