Havenwyck Hospitalis a 251-bed, Joint Commission accredited and licensed psychiatric and substance abuse facility overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Mich. We specialize in providing behavioral health and substance abuse services to children, adolescents, and adults. Due to our recent expansion, Havenwyck Hospital has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Admission Coordinator to join our team of compassionate, dedicated, clinical professionals. The Admission Coordinator is responsible for answering the hospital switchboard phone, verification of insurances, obtaining signatures on admitting paperwork, and processing of all admitting forms. The Coordinator interfaces with the Intake Department, patients and nursing units. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Verification of all insurances on line and by phone. Documentation and understanding of eligibility, co-pays, deductibles, and pre-existing terms. Distribution and explanation of such information to Intake Coordinators and others as necessary
  • Answer the switchboard in a highly professional manner. Directs all phone calls to the appropriate department or staff
  • Proficiently conducts the admission process with patients and/or families. Empathetically and knowledgeably explains each admission form to them and procures signatures
  • Enters and deletes admission and discharge information into the computer system then compiles and computes accurate information regarding admissions and discharges on the daily census sheet and distributes the census to all departments
  • Receives the mail and distributes to appropriate mail box. Maintains the postage machine and posts postage on all outgoing mail
  • Greets the public when they arrive at the hospital and directs them to the appropriate staff and/or department
 
 
Requirements
Job Requirements:
 
  • High School Diploma
  • Typing/computer skills
  • Phone/switchboard experience
  • Highly professional, motivated individual, high energy level, with good interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • Experience verifying insurances, preferred
