Position Summary:

We are a midtown Residential Treatment Center for children with psychiatric illnesses. We are looking for RNs with at least one year of psychiatric experience working with children. The positions are PT , FT and PRN , 12/hr shifts day and nights. Must be able to work as a team and help to lead the milieu. Must have experience distributing and administering large amounts of medication, working in a milieu as well as clinic setting. Must have a current Georgia RN License. We are an EOE facility.

 
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY:
Possesses current RN's license in state of practice; demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing the activities and schedules for medical and/or non-medical tasks of the child and adolescent; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others; displays basic knowledge of treatment procedures; interventions common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be a role model to others; basic knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the child and adolescent psychiatric populations; application of this nursing care; basic knowledge of medical terminology especially those terms associated with child and adolescent behavioral issues; through familiarity of psycho pharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications with adult addictive disease population; basic teaching and training skills helpful; problem-solving; organizational and time management; crisis intervention skills; written and oral communication skills; skills in facilitating and/or co-facilitating process orientated and didactic groups; eligible for CPR and HELP certification; skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a variety of clinical and support team members; empathy for patients and their families; flexibility regarding hours and schedule worked; basic knowledge of assessment and treatment procedures; skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.
