UHS is currently recruiting for an Associate Administrator for the George Washington University Hospital (Washington, D.C.)We have a century-long tradition of providing academic medical care in a comfortable and convenient environment means peace of mind for the thousands of patients who are cared for by the doctors and nurses at The George Washington University Hospital (GW) each year. Just minutes from Washington, D.C.'s tourist sites and government headquarters, The Hospital serves a diverse group of patients, from area residents to visiting dignitaries and heads of state. When the new Hospital opened in 2002, physicians and nurses at GW began treating patients in a technologically advanced hospital. Requirements
Position Summary:
The selected candidate will provide day-to-day operations for several ancillary or assigned departments. He/she will implement strategy of CEO and COO and will manage assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of services and improve the financial results of the hospital.
Position Requirements:
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects is required.
  • Skills: Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations. Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA or related program).
  • Work experience: Two to three years of hospital management experience at a mid or senior level.
