Position Summary:

Three Rivers Residential Treatment-Midlands Campus is a 59-bed comprehensive residential treatment facility for children and adolescents providing treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency related illnesses.
We organize our treatment around helping children and teenagers remove barriers and develop interest in their futures and career aspirations. Our therapeutic model is collaborative; working with families, patients and agencies to maximize therapeutic goals and individual treatment.

Serves as a leader and positive role model for all staff. Also, provides direction and guidance to staff in the implementation of the program. Serves as positive role model for the residents to observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors. Acts as a resource for the staff. Ensures unit schedule/activities occur.

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following: (Team Leader positions require every other weekend sihft rotations)

Plans and organizes unit assignments with nurse supervisor.
Ensures appropriate paperwork is completed for assigned shift.
Ensures and maintains a clean and safe environment by adhering to safety and security regulations, properly using and storing supplies, and reporting potential hazards to Director of Support Services.
Ensures policies and procedures are followed to provide safety to residents..
Ensures rounds are completed as per facility policy.
Facilitates community meetings and facilitates specialty groups.
Ensures that staff actively monitors residents per policy and procedures. Assigns staff to designated areas of unit to maximize this process.
Plans, facilitates and implements activities
Maintains attendance record that does not compromise delivery of resident care
Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and communication skills with staff and residents
Ensures that staff records accurate, timely and complete information in the resident’s clinical record
Supervises residents attainment of treatment goals
Ensures optimal communication by relaying pertinent resident care information f
Maintains safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of the residents, maintaining optimal physical proximity, remaining alert at all times, and using analytical forethought to anticipate potentially volatile or unsafe situations and proactively intervene.
Utilizes counseling skill methods and techniques under the supervision of program treatment professionals and uses those skills to conduct periodic individual or group sessions as necessary. Provides one-to-one contact with residents focusing on social development and any problems they might be experiencing and at time of resident distress.
Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
Orients and assists in training of new staff to unit(s)


Strongly Prefer, Bachelors degree in psychology or a related field with at least one year direct experience working with adolescents and children in a residential setting. Prefer at least one year demonstrated supervisory experience.
Associate degree in psychology or a health related field with 3 years direct care experience working with adolescents/children in residential, juvenile/domestic relations, education or recreation setting. Prefer at least one year demonstrated supervisory experience.
Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills.
Must have a valid SC driver’s license in good standing.
Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behaviors and CPR.
Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
