The Occupational Therapist functions under the general supervision of the coordinator of occupational therapy. The OT assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides occupational therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care. The occupational therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by occupational therapist assistants and / or students and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the coordinator in the absence of that individual.
As our new Ocupational Therapist, you yourself will need to be flexible – we have the only trauma center in the area, so you will be facing the widest variety of injuries that require therapy. You’ll be providing care to patients of all ages and you will welcome more responsibility and accountability, as you benefit from the increased support you find here. A current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist is required.
