Since 1976 Lakeside Behavioral Health System has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and mid-south region. The 319 bed facility is located on a safe and private 37 acre campus in northeast Shelby County and provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment for adults, seniors, adolescents and children. Lakeside's specialized programs treat disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism and drug addiction. At Lakeside, we believe in offering a variety of options to our patients, making our programs more accessible and our treatment more effective, while maintaining high levels of quality care. Job Description:The Manager of Staff Development & Infection Control is responsible for the development and implementation of an infection control program for all inpatient and Partial Hospital Programs to include the surveillance, prevention and control of infection to reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infection among patients and employees. The manager of Staff Development & Infection Control provides employee health services, patient and staff education and coordinates the Infection Control Committee. The Manager of Staff Development & Infection Control functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health and the Standards of Practice of the Center for Disease Control.  The Manager of Staff Development & Infection Control ensures that comprehensive education, training, orientation and in-servicing is administered to all employees.

 

 

 
Requirements

Job Requirements:

 Graduate of an accredited nursing program.  BSN preferred.  One year clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population preferred, 2 years experience in infection control practice preferred.  Licensure & registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.  Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working knowledge of microbiology, immunology and epidemiology, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.  Must have good organizational skills and ability to manager several computer databases.
